« European Heritage Days » in Thailand – 16th September 2018
Every year, the European Heritage Days introduce visitors to the architectural richness and diversity of the most prestigious public buildings which are open just for this occasion.
Modelled on the “Open day for historical monuments” launched in 1984 by the French ministry of Culture and adopted subsequently by several European countries, the European Heritage Days have been officially instituted in 1991 by the Council of Europe (Conseil de l’Europe). Currently, over fifty countries, within and outside Europe, are participating to these “open doors” event.
This year, the European Heritage Days are celebrating their 35th edition under the theme “The Art of Sharing”. In France, this event is organized over two days and will take place this year on 15th and 16th September.
For this 35th edition, the Residence of the French Ambassador to Thailand and the Embassy’s Chancery will be open to visitors on Sunday 16th September 2018, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Come and appreciate the edifice which dates from the reign of Rama IV, masterpiece of the mixture of modernity and Thai architecture. And don’t miss French desserts and snacks offered after the visit.
You will be free to visit the precincts with information sets (in French and Thai) which you will be able to obtain at the Embassy’s reception in exchange of an ID document (ID card, passport or driving license). The document will be given back to you in exchange of the information set at the end of your visit. Besides, visitors will also be able to visit the precincts with guides. Guided visits in French, Thai and English will be organized on the following time slots:

English: 10h50, 11h50, 14h20 ,15h20
20 visitors maximum per slot. Free tours are also possible.
