French exhibitors and affiliated companies
Thai business partners companies
It’s a great pleasure for me to welcome you all in this historic Residence, which was given to the French government by King Mongkut, Rama IV, 160 years ago and is still one of the oldest buildings in Bangkok.
I am very pleased to see that this year The French Healthcare Pavilion at Medical Fair brings together 11 French companies boasting the latest and most prominent French medical innovations.
I have myself visited the Pavilion yesterday and have been very impressed by their latest solutions ranging, from medical beds and surgical equipment to one of the most groundbreaking solutions in the treatment of sleep disorders.
France has enormous innovation potential in the medical device sector, thanks to recognized industrial, scientific and medical expertise. More than half of the businesses in this industry invest in R&D.
I saw recently in the news that Thailand is gaining worldwide recognition and is now the 6th country in the world for the quality of its healthcare services. Thailand was among the few Asian countries which managed to enter the top 10 in 2019, along with South Korea in second place and Japan in third place.
As our French companies have all noticed, the healthcare sector is one of the priorities of Thailand as well as other nations in Southeast Asia. Thailand is positioning itself as a World leader for Medical Tourism. More than 60 Thai Private and Public hospitals have been certified by JCI. With this in mind, I am sure that French technology with the EU certification will guaranty to the Thai hospitals quality and security for people.
To address this vibrant market, more than 30 French healthcare companies have already established their subsidiary in Southeast Asia. Some of them are as well present tonight.
This year, the French Healthcare Association has honored this event with its official support. I would like to thank Mr. Jean – François GENDRON, President of the Association, for his presence. The “French Healthcare” approach is an innovative one, aiming to bring together all the stakeholders in the ecosystem to jointly promote the French vision in terms of worldwide health.
I am also delighted to welcome the Thai partners with whom French companies work hand in hand to develop new projects. I would like in particular to thank Mr. Prasert Vaiyavatjamai, from Valor Health, for sharing his knowledge on market opportunities in Thailand, during the seminar that we organized yesterday morning for the French delegation.
To conclude, let me thank Business France, the French Public Agency responsible for the development of exports and international investment in France, and the French Healthcare Federation for organizing the French Pavilion in Medical Fair 2019. I do believe that your presence at Medical Fair 2019 will be fruitful and will bring to the participants new opportunities in this region.
I wish you all a successful exhibition.
